A Florida Department of Law Enforcement driver for Gov. Rick Scott was involved in a parking lot crash in downtown Naples on Saturday.
Around 5:30 p.m., Rebecca Petrulis, 34, was attempting to back a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe that is part of the governor’s detail across Sixth Avenue South into a vacant parking spot, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Reports say she failed to see a 2011 Jaguar XJL near Eighth Street South and struck the left side of the car.
Investigators say Scott was eating dinner at the time and was not in the vehicle, according to news reports.
There were no injuries. Petrulis faces a charge of improper backing, according to a news release.
